Our editor Keith says don’t forget to send in your news and pictures.

Maybe you have been involved in a news story or have seen or heard something significant or unusual where you live. The part you play in making movies is very important.

Whether it is a member’s film or a club film, your contribution can make a difference to the enjoyment of our readers. We welcome all contributions.

Held at the Methodist Hall Orpington on Friday 24th March, The films were made

to the theme ‘Out of the blue’, and included the first public showing of Lee Relph’s ‘Meet Dexter’, and OVFM’s top trophy winning film

‘Reaching for the Sky’ by Jane Oliver.

We decided to alter the presentation slightly this year with our MC, Charlie Caseley, introducing the festival and each of the three sessions but, instead of introducing each individual film as he has done in the past, we had a caption on screen stating the details of the film just watched followed by the next film coming up. At the end of the show the audience were asked to vote for the film they liked the best

which would receive the Alex Dove Plate.

The judges were all from Southampton Video Camera Club, Secretary Roger Brenton, BIAFF Diamond Award winner Paul Vernon and Robert Malbon. The competing clubs were Surrey Borders Movie Makers (2 films), South Downs Film Makers (2 films), Haywards Heath Movie Makers, East Sussex Movie Makers and Chichester Film & Video Makers.
