SERIAC                       (SOUTH EAST REGION OF THE  IAC)

The southern Counties Region of the Film and Video Institute held the IAC AGM at their Celebrity Weekender in Bournemouth.

22nd - 25th October 2015

The hotel has a large collection of portraits of world famous celebrities, a Lawrence of Arabia collection and a Tony Hancock collection who at one time lived here with his family.

The weekend was a very relaxed affair with lots of time of chat to old and new friends.

SERIAC won the Mermaid Competition with their entry from Graham Ralls (Spring Park Film Makers) with his film ‘The Alphabet’

Linda Gough, IAC President,  presented the trophy to  Rita Hayes, Chairman of SERIAC.

The Golden Anniversary Super-8 Show was held on Sunday and our own Harold Trill FACI (SERIAC) undertook the presentation of the films with his own projector.  Here was a rare opportunity to sample the Super-8 experience on the occasion of its jubilee.

And the secretary of SERIAC, Brenda Troughton was awarded an IAC Fellowship by Linda Gough President of the IAC.

With the Gala Dinner on Saturday evening and the IAC AGM on Sunday morning, the weekend proved to be very enjoyable.

Don’t forget that SERIAC will be hosting the 2017 IAC AGM in October of that year.  We look forward to seeing you all at Sittingbourne.

And not to forget the  visits to the Tutankhamun Exhibition in Dorchester and the Swanage Steam Railway.
